Paroled killer Rena Salmon has spoken for the first time of her remorse at shooting dead her love rival and best pal in a beauty salon.

The 56-year-old former Army marksman has insisted she would forever be haunted by pregnant Lorna Stewart's death 'until the day I die'.

She said that her intention was to kill herself in front of the mum-of-two so that Lorna would suffer from nightmares and understand legacy of her extra marital affair with her husband Paul.

'I admit that at the time my thinking was disjointed but I genuinely didn't intend killing her. I simply wanted Lorna to understand and appreciate the consequences involved,' Salmon admitted today.

She is now paroled after serving 14 years of a life sentence for the 2002 crime but has suffered a new family nightmare since her release.

She claims to be suffering a double family betrayal, which has set back her freedom plans.

Firstly she was let down by her then spouse, who cheated on her with Lorna.

And now her hopes of enjoying 'a quiet parole' have been cruelly dashed by her daughter Jasmin, who used her mother's money to buy the flat she intended living in during her parole.

Instead of putting the dwelling in Rena Salmon's name, Jasmin, aged 24 years, bought it herself by claiming that she had personally saved up £65K.

Now Salmon has warned her daughter and her boyfriend that unless she gets an assurance from them within a fortnight that the flat would be transferred into her name, she will take them back to court for breaching a previous order.

On Saturday Salmon told friends that she felt doubly betrayed by members of her own family and questioned whether she was to blame.

Seven months ago, a judge at Liverpool Crown Court ordered Jasmine and her partner to sell the property and put it in Salmon's name - but last week as exclusively revealed in a Sunday newspaper, police found it being used as a cannabis factory.

However, recently she was paroled and gave Jasmin £60,000 from her divorce settlement, to buy a flat for her in Woolton, Liverpool, where she would live while on parole.

She does not believe her daughter intended conning her.

At the time, Salmon was being prepared for release at HMP Askham Grange, York, so was unable to travel to the city to complete the transaction.

She has now advised Jasmin and her partner of the new deadline, where she plans to defend herself at the new hearing.

Salmon has bought another flat in the city but has exhausted all the money from her divorce settlement and is now broke and living on State benefits. She has a fortnight in which to pay £10K in legal fees to a lawyer.
