Love Island makes sales of men's skinny white jeans soar
So tight are the super skinny white jeans being sported by the male contestants on Love Island that one might question whether they'll emerge with their fertility in tact.Â
However, the painted-on white jeggings look - worn frequently on the ITV2 reality show by the likes of Chris Hughes, Kem Cetinay and Dom Lever- are catching on with viewers too it seems.
As the latest series reaches its, ahem, climax on Monday, it looks like giving high street retailers a major summer boost - with male fans of the show flocking to snap up some spray-on denim of their own. Â

Sticking it on, literally: Since (from left) Kem Cetinay, Chris Hughes and Dom Lever showed off the triple jegging look in an episode mid-way through the latest series, sales of tight white jeans have been on the rise
Make mine a skinny white: Chris and Kem's bromance, including near-identical outfits, has been a dream for high street retailers who have reported higher sales
The Love Islanders, all hoping their short burst of fame will propel them on to a bigger platform, have been rocking the look during the cooler evenings on Mallorca, where the villa is based.Â
Teaming them up with boat shoes or brown leather loafers, the boys have been known to rock identical looks on the same evening, with Dom, Chris and Kem once all sporting their skinnies with similar khaki t-shirts, leaving them looking like a boy band waiting to happen.Â
Selling fast: A pair of TopShop £30 Off White Stretch Skinny Jeans has been selling like  hotcakesÂ
The majority of sizes in the Asos Super Skinny Jeans In White, retailing at £25, have sold out
Fashion expert Simon Glazin, told MailOnline the trend is actually a huge fashion faux pas. Â Â Â
He quipped: 'These spray-on, skin-tight jeggings they insist on wearing are surely crushing the life out of their nether regions?'
He adds: 'Skinny jeans are fine on women - with heels they look gorgeous - but put a little stumpy man in a pair and they just look wrong. And news flash men: this season's catwalks are awash with wide leg trouser options, so I'd look to update your wardrobe ASAP.
'Apart from bringing on thrush, these jeans have nothing else going for them. And the way retailers name them - super skinny super stretch - is so off putting. The phrase: trying to get toothpaste back into the tube is never so relevan t!'
Fashion expert Simon Glazin said the Love Island trend was actual miles away from being on point, with wide leg trousers more likely to be on the catwalk this season
Over at H&M, it's a similar story, with the Skinny Low Trashed Jeans, at £34.99, unavailable in lots of sizes
On Twitter, the reaction to the skinny whites has been largely the same with many viewers - mainly women - aghast at the jeggings-style look.Â
@lucindakate23 asked: 'What is this trend for guys wearing insanely tight white jeans that seems to have bypassed me completely...?'
@_hannah_tomes wrote: 'I'd never find anyone on #LoveIsland because guys in tight white jeans turn my stomach #grim.'
@mrs_katg was equally bewildered, penning: 'What is it with all these boys in tight whitejeans? It's just not right!'
@ameliahendrickx offered a virtual eyeroll via a gif and said:Â 'My bro just brought skin tight white jeans because of Love Island.'
