A professional golfer has become an internet sensation after he completed a seemingly impossible challenge while on a stag-do in Benidorm.Â
Jason Timmis, from Stoke-on-Trent, was tasked to throw a flip-flop 15 floors from a hotel balcony into a rubber ring floating in the swimming pool below.
The 29-year-old's first attempt was woefully off target, nearly hitting a sunbed metres from the pool.
Aim: Jason Timmis was tasked to throw a flip-flop 15 floors from a hotel balcony into a rubber ring floating in the swimming pool
Spurred on by a group of friends Timmis tried again. After adjudging the direction of the wind the golfer tossed the second sandal.
It span through the air eventually cascading through the rubber ring and splashing the pool's water, igniting wild celebrations of all on the balcony.Â
Friend Joel Stair captured the unique 'hole-in-one' on his phone camera and and Timmis, once back in the UK, uploaded the clip onto Facebook where it has amassed five million times.Â
Timmis, who is ranked 1372 in the world, told Stoke Sentinel : 'I was on my friend Ryan Smith's stag-do with 40 or 50 lads.
'We had just got back from town and were getting ready for the nigh t and messing around on the balcony.
'My first attempt was quite far off â" but the other just flew straight in. Everybody went wild as nobody expected it.
Celebration: The sandal span through the air eventually cascading through the rubber ring and splashing the pool's water, igniting wild celebrations of all on the balcony
'When I returned to the UK I put the footage on Facebook and straight away it started to get a lot of shares.
'I'm not fussed about social media but this has been good and it's probably one of those things that'll never happen again. It was just random - and I'll always look back on it with a smile.'Â
