The simple trick thieves can use to break into your car
This is the £16 tool that thieves don't want you to know about.
Now a car recovery driver has demonstrated the trick that enables anyone to break into expensive vehicles - and it takes just 30 seconds.
Ady Handley bought the cheap tool online to test out his theory that it could easily unlock vehicle doors.
The 49-year-old, who has no experience in lock-picking, managed to open the back of a Ford Connect Van in just half-a-minute seconds on his first attempt.
Ady is now sharing this video to prove to drivers that they should not keep their tools in their vans and should also think about getting a deadlock fitted to stop this key working.
Ady, from Leicester, said: 'This was my first attempt and it took me under 30 seconds, and I'm no locksmith.
'If you started doing this regularly, it could only take 10 seconds to open each van, it's worrying really.

'You're meant to have a licence to be able to buy these keys, and they've been banned online in most places - but I got this one online.
'The key works on Ford and Jaguar models, and once the door has been opened it can be locked with the same key.
'This means that there's no damage or trace left, so drivers wouldn't even know.
'Even worse, if someone uses this key on someone's car, they could then take it to a locksmith and get a key cut for their car - which would start the engine and mean they could get away.'

Ady claims to have bought the unlocking key on online retailers for £35, but they are currently being sold for as little as £16.
'This should be a message to builders and tradesmen to not leave anything in their van.
'I practised this on my friend's dad's car, and as soon as he saw me open it, he took all of his tools out straight away.'
