Barclays bank director is killed in Cheshire hit and run
Neil Shoane died after he was hit by a vehicle in Cheshire in the early hours of Sunday
Police are hunting a hit and run driver who left a father-of-two for dead on a country lane in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Neil Shoane was hit by a vehicle as he was walking along the A530 near Wrenbury in Cheshire, between 1am and 3.15am on Sunday.
The 44-year-old director at Barclays Banks was taken by ambulance to hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.
Cheshire Police are now trying to trace the driver who failed to stop at the scene of the crash. They believe the car involved may have been damaged in the collision.
Mr Shoane, who lived in Aston, Cheshire, was a relationship director at Barclays Bank's agricultural division in North Wales. He had worked at the bank since leav ing school.
Devastated relatives paid tribute to him as a 'wonderful loving dad, husband and friend'.
A spokesman for the family said: 'We have lost a wonderful loving dad, husband and friend.
'Neil thought the world of his young children and family meant everything to him. He was a sports lover and a hard worker, committed to his career and customers.
'We are devastated to be told he's gone and we need to know why. Someone may know something and we urge them to do the right thing. We appeal to anyone who has any information to contact the Police.'

One family member, who asked not to be named, added: 'He worked for Barclays since leaving school. He was very driven and career-minded.
'He also liked a game of football now and again. Neil was just a regular family man to be honest and he was a nice bloke. This has come as a massive shock, especially considering the circumstances.'
He was found by the roadside and was rushed to Leighton Hospital in Crewe, but his injuries proved fatal.Â
The A530, which runs between Nantwich and Whitchurch, was closed for several hours while the collision was investigated.
Detective Chief Inspector Helena Banusic said: 'This was an extremely serious incident and we want to trace the person responsible as wel l as urge witnesses to come forward and speak to officers.
'The investigation is currently in its early stages where we are following a number of lines of enquiry.
'I believe as a result of the collision, the vehicle would have had damage caused to the front passenger wing mirror.
'I'm keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who believes they have any information that could help the investigation to contact us immediately.'
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 180 of July 2.
