Chuka Umunna reveals he's a huge fan of Love Island
Chuka Umunna has admitted he is 'totally addicted' to ITV 2's raunchy reality show Love Island
Labour MP Chuka Umunna has been slammed by critics on Twitter after professing his love for ITV's Love Island.
Umunna has admitted he is 'totally addicted' to the raunchy reality show and tunes in regularly with his family.
However, the Streatham MP's revelation has attracted ire on social media with some accusing him of pretending to enjoy Love Island because he is 'desperate to be liked'.
The ITV 2 show has gripped the nation since its third season aired weeks ago, with millions of Britons tuning in as couples compete for a £25,000 cash prize at a villa in Majorca.
Umunna is not the first Labour politician to wade into the Love Island debate.
Last week, le ader Jeremy Corbyn urged his supporters to vote for ex-Blazin Squad rapper Marcel to win the show.
Viewers were left shocked on Friday night as two new islanders broke up couples Kem and Amber and Johnny and Tyla during a tense showdown.
Reacting to the dramatic re-coupling, Umanna Tweeted: 'Completely addicted to #LoveIsland in the Umunna household. So much better than Big Brother!'
He also shared a picture of the sparkly Love Island logo on Instagram with the caption: 'We cannot get enough of @loveisland in the Umunna Household. Essential evening viewing. Hiow its own chat too - 'melt', 'grafting', 'aggy' etc.'Â
His followers were not impressed with the comments, with many questioning why a politician had tweeted about such trivial matters.

Valerie Samuelâ fumed: 'I wondered the same, what a strange thing to tweet. Get on with doing something for the people of Streatham.'
Ummana was slammed on Twitter by followers who accused him of pretending to like the show
MDLâ said: 'What you do in the private of your own home is up to you Chuka. We don't need to know every sordid detail. #why #TMI #LoveIsland'
Paul Thomas tweeted: 'Really! You must have better things to do.'
Ianto âranted:Â 'Trying to be popular, one of the boys, just working class? Give it a rest you champagne socialist! #hypocrite'
While Ummana has been criticised for admitting his penchant for the ups and downs of the Love Island villa, his boss Jeremy Corbyn has been lauded by fans on Twitter.
Jeremy Corbyn has urged his supporters to throw their support behind former Blazin Squad star Marcel on Love island
Corbyn told the Tab:'I haven't been watching it, but I'd advise that Marcel needs a vote.
'We should give him a vote. He needs a bit of, shall I say, TLC.'Â
Marcel, full name Marcel Sommerville, captured the hearts of viewers after falling for blonde Liverpudlian Gabby Allen.
The 31-year-old was also voted the most popular man in the villa by fans of the show.Â
One wrote: 'If Jeremy Corbyn and Marcel became friends my life would be made.'
Another posted: 'Y'all even Jeremy Corbyn is voting for Marcel #LoveIsland.'Â
