Donner kebab meat carted around in back of 4x4 in Crawley
A father has told of his shock after spotting a kebab house transporting piles of donner meat in the back of a 'sweaty' 4x4 on a warm summer day.
Daniel Armstrong snapped the three-foot long meat sticks as he was walking with his three-year-old on Wednesday through Crawley, West Sussex.
The insurance salesman's photos show the 4x4's boot open exposing the donner meat, allegedly only wrapped in cling film, piled in the boot and on the back seats.
Troy BBQ restaurant admitted to transporting the meat in the unconventional manner but insisted they were only in the car for a matter of 'minutes'.

However Mr Armstrong believes that what he witnessed is a health concern not just for him, but for the 'hundreds of thousands of others' who will have eaten there too.
Mr Armstrong said: 'I thought my child could have caught something; it did go through my head.
'It's absolutely shocking. Not just for me but the hundreds of thousands of people who probably eat there every week.
'The meat definitely would have been sweaty in the heat of the car. It would have been a hot in there.
'When I ate there I was told I was eating from a restaurant that had five stars from food hygiene.
'To think that's what they have been doing all along - the whole thing is enough to turn your stomach.'

Father-of-three Daniel was on his way back to his car after a father-son shopping trip when he saw the meat being lifted out of the car.
Despite immediately thinking it 'didn't look right', Daniel held off confronting the men handling the kebab sticks as he has his son with him.
Daniel said: 'We were walking down Peglar Way and I caught them unloading the kebabs from the back of the car - I thought that's definitely not the way you transport it.
'The men were carrying one each into the back of the restaurant - the only protection they had was gloves.
'They told me it was frozen at the time but I couldn't tell if it was froze n or not. They were just stood there ten feet away from me loading the back of the 4 x 4 with those kebabs.

'Obviously my understanding is that they need to be transported in a freezer and obviously that wasn't the case.
'It was just in what I imagine could have been an air conditioned car that would not have been cold enough.
'I didn't know where it had come from and that's why I got the photo. I didn't want to confront these people because I had my son with me.'
Troy BBQ manager Musa Eryilmaz claims the meat had been moved just a hundred yards due to a broken down freezer.
Musa said: 'Nothing much happened. A freezer was broken and it was only one hundred yards from my other shop to this shop.
'It was from number 43 to number 98 on the same street.
'It we nt from a minus 18 degrees freezer to another minus 18 degrees freezer, no more than two or three minutes out of the freezer.
'I have worked in Crawley for 30 years and I have had a good reputation in this town.
'Health and safety people came and they said there's nothing wrong with what we do.'
A council spokesperson said: 'The sighting was reported by several members of the Crawley community, who made Environmental Health aware of the situation.
'Environmental Health is liaising with the business concerned.'
