Gordon Ramsay won't let children fly first class
He's a notoriously strict dad who won't let his children eat at his Michelin star restaurants or travel first class with him. Â
And now Gordon Ramsay, 50, has again opened up about why his children don't get the plum seats on the plane, saying: 'Thatâs 15 f****** grand a ticket.'
In an interview with the Financial Times, the notoriously fiery chef said that only a 'muppet' would fork out £90,000 for first class tickets for himself and his wife Tana, plus their four children Megan, 18, twins Jack and Holly, 17, and Matilda, 16.
He explained: 'I said to the kids, "Every single person you see on that plane, youâre going to see at the carousel. Youâre not getting to LA any quicker. Do you have any idea what you can do with that money after you get of f that plane?ââ

Ramsay first revealed his tough stance to The Telegraph in April this year, confirming his children are confined to economy when they travel. Â
'They havenât worked anywhere near hard enough to afford that,' he explained. 'I worked my f****** arse off to sit that close to the pilot and you appreciate it more when youâve grafted for it.
'Last time we went to Royal Hospital Road [his restaurant in Chelsea] was for Meganâs 16th birthday, and that was the first time weâve ever eaten there with the kids.
'They have served the Chelsea pensioners there for Christmas lunch, but not eaten there.'
The notoriously strict father-of-four doesn't allow his children to eat at his restaurants and won't be leaving them his millionsÂ
He added that the children would not be inheriting his multi-million pound fortune and that aside from giving them a 25 per cent deposit for property, he wants them to work hard for their money. Â
During a Reddit discussion, the businessman reinforced his point about his children having a 'work ethic'.
When a poster asked how he managed to have 'seemingly well adjust kids' after 'sacrificing quality time with them in exchange for success', he responded: 'I've never been at home seven night a week cooking for the kids.Â
Gordon and his wife Tana have done their best to instill a good work ethic in their children and expect them to graft hard for their moneyÂ
'What I've instilled in the kids, from day one, is a work ethic. So, the time we spend together is limited, but it's quality.
'I need to protect them and respect the restaurant and team in my restaurant. I made them as normal as possible.
'They've all got jobs, they've all taken care of animals, they've all got housework. There's a rota. They get pocket money, but they have to earn that pocket money.'
Matilda is currently filming the fourth series of her CBBC TV show Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch.Â
Megan is reportedly studying psychology at Oxford Brookes University, Jack has ambitions to join the marines and Holly is interested in pursuing a c areer in fashion.Â
