Children are never left alone for long periods, but it turns out they don't need many minutes to cause complete havoc.  

These photographs, submitted by exasperated parents and compiled by Bored Panda captured the chaos created by their kids while their backs were turned. 

From filling the entire bathroom with bubbles to relieving cushions of their stuffing and coating their entire bodies in felt tip pen marks, these hilarious snaps might encourage mums and dads to keep their eyes locked on their little ones at all times. 

The gallery feat ures one young boy who jumped into a waist-deep muddy puddle while on a country walk, and another mischievous young man who was caught atop the kitchen table after wrapping himself in toilet paper. 

At least most of the miniature mischief-makers captured here have the good grace to look guilty...
