Reddit users share stories of their worst employees
From the lazy slob to the person who always eats fish for lunch, there's always one colleague who tends to get on everybody's nerves.
But spare a thought for these frustrated bosses, who have undoubtedly come across some of the very worst employees the working world has to offer.Â
Taking to Reddit, the employers revealed how they have had to contend with employees who were rude, reckless and more than happy to break the rules. Some even told of how they had caught colleagues breaking the law while in the office.
Sleeping on the job: Some managers revealed how they had caught employees snoozing
They were responding to an AskReddit thread from a user who asked: 'Bosses and managers, what was your worst employee like?'
One user shared a horrifying story about an angry employee. '[He] got mad and masturbated in front of the entire store,' he wrote.
Another shared a disturbing tale about a drug addict he used to work with. He wrote: 'Caught him doing heroine in the bathroom... He went to jail shortly after being fired [sic].'Â
Disrespectful and creepy: The complaints ranged from rude to downright creepy
A third posted: 'Took peoples bank information to pay for his family bill. We obviously saw his name.'Â
Theft was a problem for another employee. 'There was the guy who "borrowed" the company car (with logo on it) in the middle of the night,' the boss wrote.
'Yes, he was drunk. Yes, he crashed it. Yes, he was arrested. Oh - his passengers were three other workers. They were all a******s.'Â
Drama: From turning up late to quitting on day one, these employees caused plenty of trouble
Even the seemingly mundane examples were still difficult to handle.Â
As one user explained: 'The worst employee I've known is a girl who told me she hated waking up to come to work so in order to sleep longer in the morning, she would put her clothes on the night before and sleep in them and roll out of bed and come straight to work.
'She never wore pants, only thick leggings under heavy skirts. She lived with her parents and their 20 cats and would always be covered in cat hair. She didn't brush her hair and always wore a beanie, even inside. She eventually got fired due to it as she was a sales rep for our company.'
Playing favourites: This worker was left frustrated by an important client's nephew
