With its pioneering beauty creations, we often look to the East for inspiration when it comes to makeup and skincare.

South Korea first introduced us to the now-ubiquitous BB creams in 2011, and the flawless complexions of YouTube stars such as Cho Sung Ah and Pony are enough to instill envy in all of us.

So popular is Korean beauty that plush department store Selfridges is unveiling a mini-department dedicated entirely to its most progressive - and prettily packaged - beauty products.

From a knitted mask soaked in beauty-boosting vitality essence derived from pink cactus, to exfoliating face pads made from red wine to help increase cell-turnover, beauty buyers and industry experts predict we'll all be using these bizarre products to help us turn back the clock this year.
