The World Interior of the Year shortlist
What do a floating bar, a spa in the basement of a shopping mall and a futuristic mathematics-themed gallery have in common?
These are just three of the 78 projects that will compete to be crowned World Interior of the Year, as part of the prestigious World Festival of Interiors.
From grand civic spaces and hospitals to transportation hubs and shops, shortlisted candidates have embodied this year's 'performance' theme.
In particular, emphasis will be placed on how elements like colour, acoustics and volume impact interiors.
Inspired by the lush tropical greens o f Thailand's urbanscape, China's Maos Design have been honoured in the Hotel category for their Nimman Spa, developed in the basement of a Shanghai shopping mall; while Airbnb has been praised for its contemporary European headquarters design.Â
The overall winner will be crowned on November 17.

Museum hopping: Designed by world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, 'Mathematics: The Winton Gallery' in London  is nominated in the Civics, Culture and Transport category
Shop in style: In the Retail category, adidas has been praised for the stunning interiors inside their New York flagship storeÂ

Dine in style: 5-7 St Helen's Place in London features an exquisite meeting space, The Leathersellers' Hall, in the basement of the building. It has been nominated in the Civil, Culture and Transport category
On display: Furniture and design retailer XTRA's new flagship store in Singapore's Marina Square includes a Herman Miller 'Fabricwood' Pavilion that draws inspiration from the furniture it showcases
Playtime! Completed in 2017 in Sydney, this stimulating and inclusive Nubo play centre encourages learning, exploration, boundless imagination

Innovative: At the Airbnb European HQ in Dublin, designed by Heneghan Peng Architects - dubbed The Warehouse - the beautiful interior no doubt inspires creativity
Permanent pop-up: The twisted, pyramid-like Tate Modern Terrace Shop is part-shopping destination, part-hang out space
Break a sweat: In the Health and Education category, this gym space - appropriately called Physical - in Shanghai proves that you can indeed sweat in style
