Turkish mom uses food to create dresses for her daughter
A little girl has become an online sensation after her mom turned their fresh produce into fetching outfits.Â
Alya Chaglar, 31, from Antalya, Turkey, has gained tens of thousands of Instagram followers for her sartorial creations made using fruit, vegetables and flowers photographed using forced perspective to appear like an outfit on her three-year-old daughter, Stefani.Â
The mom has shown a serious talent for turning even the most boring item in her crisper drawer into a work of fashion art simply through a trick of the eye.Â
B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Alya Chaglar, 31, from Antalya, Turkey, and her daughter have gained an online following for Alya's clever 'food dress' creations
Getting started: Alya came up with the idea when she held up a slice of watermelon while her toddler daughter Stefani was standing nearby
Above and beyond: Alya uses everything from fresh produce to beautiful flowers for her sartorial creations
Apparently the whole idea began with one slice of watermelon that Alya held up in front of her as her then two-year-old daughter stood away from her.
'She enjoys modeling,' Alya explained to Huffington Post. 'She struck a pose spontaneously and her facial expression was hilarious.'
Things just blossomed from there - often literally - with Alya expanding her fashion supplies to leafy vegetables and even flowers.
Lots of love: Alya (pictured with Stefani), explained that her daughter is an enthusiastic model
Hit the carpet: While the forced perspective food creations are stunning, Stefani and her adorable expressions are the real star
Going big: The mother-daughter duo have more than 29,000 followers on Instagram
Take a bite: This outfit also doubled up as a mid-shoot snack for the adorable tot
Hot, hot, hot: Alya perfectly posed chilies to look like cascading fabric in this hot shot
Fanned out: Even a palm leaf is enough to make Stefani look drenched in haute coutureÂ
But even with Alya's talent for seeing the evening gown in a floret of broccoli or a peeled banana, Stefani is the true star.
The three-year-old knows just how to pout, pose and play along with each of the images, showing off gleeful expressions or throwing her arms up in the air in celebration of whatever outfit had been crafted for her.
She even dons a pair of mom's glamorous high heels for a number of the shots.Â
In one shot, a bundle of watercress is turned into a red carpet-ready delight, while in another, Stefani looks as though she has slipped into a perfectly round cantaloupe outfit.Â
A fruity look: Stefani just loves to model, her mom told Huffington Post
She's in fashion: This sweeping outfit looks to be made from a freshly plucked tree branch
Get the look: Stefani's 'dresses' are easily fodder for inspiration for the Met Gala
Having a laugh: Some strategically placed greens look red carpet ready in this picture
Do a little dance: This image sees little Stefani 'in an ice cream mood'
A bunch of lettuce is turned into a rippling princess ball gown, a bundle of chillies becomes a layered dress and a rose forms a perfect tutu in other images on Alya's Instagram account.Â
So far, the tiny fashionista and her creative mom have racked up just about 30,000 followers on the social media site. Â
'It makes me happy to see that people from around the world enjoy our pictures,' said Alya. Â
