EasyJet kick 15-year-old boy off flight to Toulouse
EasyJet has today launched an investigation after a 15-year-old boy was kicked off an overbooked flight and left on his own at the departure gate.
Casper Read had boarded the plane at Gatwick Airport which was headed for Toulouse and was ready to stay with relatives in south west France.
He sent his mother a text message to say he was on the plane but moments later a different passenger claimed his seat.Â
The teenager, from Worthing, West Sussex, was then told to leave the plane and was forced to wait at the busy airport by himself.Â

His mother, Stephanie Portal, had helped him check in before leaving after he successfully went through security.
She has now slammed the British airline which has now apologised for 'any inconvenience caused'.
To make matters worse, the youngster's grandparents had already left their home - two hours away from Toulouse - to come and pick him up from the airport.Â
The schoolboy - who was on his second flight alone - was eventually given a seat on a later plane which was delayed by nearly three hours on Thursday evening.
His mother told The Guardian: 'It's crazy. They left him alone in departures. Luckily, I had still not got on board my train to London and could come back and find him.
'If I had not been there I don't know what would have happened â" he'd have had no money for the train back or anything.'Â

An EasyJet spokesman said: 'EasyJet is sorry that Casper Read's flight from London Gatwick to Toulouse was overbooked yesterday.Â
'We are investigating why he was able to board the aircraft as he should have been informed at the gate.
'EasyJet has a procedure to protect unaccompanied minors but unfortunately this was not followed on this occasion and so this will also be investigated.
'One of our managers escorted Casper to reunite him with his mother who was already at the airport.Â
'We transferred him to an alternative flight later the same day and provided a voucher for refreshments whilst he waited.Â
'A member of our customer team will a lso be in touch directly to arrange for his EU261 compensation to be paid and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.'Â
