Melbourne schoolgirl has Unbrushable Hair Syndrome
Most mothers will be familiar with the task of combing through the knotty hair of an unwilling child.Â
But this seven-year-old schoolgirl's unruly blonde mane simply refuses to be tamed.Â
Shilah Calvert Yin, from Melbourne in Australia, is affected by a rare condition known as Uncombable Hair Syndrome - and her springy blonde locks have seen her compared to everyone from Back to the Future's Doc to Albert Einstein.Â
But Shilah is perfectly happy with the attention from strangers who regularly stop her in the street to remark on her hair, because 'it's not boring like everyone else's'.Â

Shilah Calbert-Yins wild blonde locks are down to a rare condition known as Uncombable Hair Syndrome - thought to affect only about 100 people worldwide
The Melbourne schoolgirl has been compared to everyone from Back to the Future's Doc to Albert Einstein thanks to her voluminous locksÂ
Uncombable Hair Syndrome is believed to impact only around 100 people worldwide. Â
Shilah said of her distinctive mane: 'It's not ordinary and it's not boring like everyone else's.
'Everyone knows me and remembers me - especially at school; all the grade levels know who I am.
'I think my friends wish they had hair like mine.'
And no matter how much Shilah and her mother, Celeste, 36, comb her hair, the pair still cannot control it.Â
Shilah, who is now seven, says her hair is not 'ordinary' or 'boring like everyone else's'Â
The family had no idea about Shilah's condition until about nine months ago, when a doctor informed them of UHS.Â
When explaining it to others, Celeste said, people usually think it's a joke - or take to Google to find out more. Â
The syndrome is said to be caused by a mutation to one of three genes - PADI3, TGM3 and TCHH - and though there is no cure, it is believed to become more manageable with age.
Is that you, Einstein? Shilah wedges a pair of goggles over her mane and gets to workÂ
A straightforward ponytail isn't really an option for Shilah, who needs more elaborate styles to keep her hair out of her eyesÂ
In order to show off her unique hair, Shilah and her family have created an Instagram account.
The youngster has also tried her hand at modelling - something her family hope will show the positive side of embracing such a condition.
Celeste said: 'Shilah draws attention everywhere she goes and always has since her hair grew through at about three months old.
Shilah, who says she loves how her hair makes her stand out, has been showing off her mane on Instagram and even tried her hand at modellingÂ
Her mum Celeste says Shilah's hair has made her the centre of attention since she was a baby
'Her older brother, Taelan, has been a fantastic support when other children make comments towards her or even touch her.
'Having said that, adults can be just as juvenile and say some of the most random things or take photos of her and even touch her hair.
'Shilah is used to all the attention and has begun to manipulate and work situations in her favor.
'Hence why we decided that modelling will embrace her unique look and she has the personality and attitude to pull it off.'
