Mummy blogger resented children for ruining her figure

A fitness blogger famed for her slim physique has admitted she felt 'resentful' about putting on weight when she fell pregnant - and was so worried about getting 'fat' she ran 10 miles a day while carrying one of her children.

Simone, who is mother to Summer, 10, Chester, nine, Blossom, seven, India, six and Minnie, three, gained and lost a huge amount of weight after having her children over six years, which left her with a 'body she didn't recognise'.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Simone told how she battled to shed the weight after each of her pregnancies and exercised so hard that friends thought she wa s 'mad' - even going to a gym class on the day she gave birth.

'I really hated being pregnant,' said Simone. 'I felt massive and out of control with my body. Just as I lost the baby weight, I gained it all back every year for five years, once gaining over 6 stone during one of the pregnancies. I felt like my body was not my own.'

During one of her pregnancies, Simone was 'so scared of piling more weight on that I ran 10 miles a day, went to numerous gym classes a day, even the day I gave birth, to stay healthy and in shape'.

'I had only just lost 6 stone, then got pregnant when my other baby was three months old,' she recalled. 'The last thing I wanted was to gain another 6 stone again.'

The per sonal trainer added: 'People thought I was mad. I even got banned from my gym by the management because they said it looked bad on them that I was training while I was pregnant.

'At this point I had four children under four, it was my way of dealing with the changes that pregnancy bring on your body and the sheer fatigue that comes with having four children under four being pregnant and breastfeeding.

'I had just got back in shape and wanted to keep up my fitness routine and the exercise gave me energy.

'The consultant at the hospital said he had never seen anything like it and he wished he had done a research paper on me. It's OK for men as nothing for them changes; it's the women who are left often with a body they don't recognise.
