Salah satu pembahasan Kapolri dengan Komisi III DPR RI saat rapat kerja adalah soal pembentukan Detasemen Khusus Tindak Pidana Korupsi (Densus Tipikor). Dalam kesempatan itu Kapolri menyampaikan total kebutuhan dana. Kapolri mengusulkan anggaran sebesar Rp 2,6 triliun. Anggaran ini akan digunakan untuk belanja pegawai, pembentukan sistem, kantor, hingga pengadaan peralatan penyelidikan. Sementara itu Wakil Ketua DPR RI Fahri Hamzah menyatakan pembentukan Densus Tipikor mampu mengoptimalkan pemberantasan korupsi yang kewenangannya selama ini juga dimiliki Polri.
