Father pays tribute to daughter killed on A361 road
Keira Ball, nine, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Vectra when it hit a Ford Ranger on Sunday
A family today paid tribute to their 'princess' nine-year-old daughter who died in a crash on the same road less than 24 hours before a family were killed there.
Keira Ball was a passenger in a Vauxhall Vectra when it hit a Ford Ranger 4x4 on Sunday morning near West Buckland on the A361 North Devon link road.
Her mother Loanna, in her 30s, and seven-year-old brother Brad are still in hospital in serious conditions. Keira died in hospital yesterday afternoon.
Her father Joe Ball said he had 'fantastic memories' of his 'happy little pud'.
He added: 'She would light any room she entered and save any disgusting bug as they are all God's creatures. Many a time we would find a collection of snails and other insects in her bedroom which she was saving from predators.
'She would give her last anything to anyone even if it meant she went without.'
Mr Ball said his heart was broken that he would not be bringing his daughter home.

He added: 'Tonight they are going to find some poorly children that she can make better by giving them her organs. As that is what she would have wanted.
'There is going to be a massive hole in our lives. We just have to be thankful for the nine years of absolute pleasure she gave us and whoever she met.
'Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. RIP Keira, aka Princess BoB.'
Mr Ball said with time he hoped Loanna and Brad would make a full recovery from their injuries.
Hundreds of people have been paying tributes to Keira.
Steph Griffiths wrote: 'Wow, what brave parents - that is how they can make their heartache a bit better knowing that there little girl is going to make other parents' heartache a lot better, and that their daughter is living on in someone else. That's just amazing. R.I.P little angel.'
Kaz Utley said: 'No parent should ever have to go through this... so very tragic. Dear little soul.Â
'And yet another victim if that dreadful road. RIP little Keira and fly high. Condolences and thoughts with the rest of her family.'
Kiara Magarotto added: 'What incredibly brave parents to offer other children the gift of life.'Â
A fundraising page has been set up to support the Ball family, with nearly £2,000 raised so far, and a target of £5,000.
Leah Taplin, who set up the page, wrote: 'On July 30 this strong, close knit family were ripped apart by a tragic road traffic accident that saw Loanna, Brad and Keira airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
'Sadly on August 1 little Keira was just too poorly and was taken by angels to become one.
'Loanna and Brad are still undergoing major operations and are expected to be in hospital for a few weeks yet.
'This family will never be the same again and we would like to raise money to help them rebuild some kind of life after losing Keira.
The crash happened 21 hours before another fatal collision on the A361 in Devon (above)
'Joe will be off work for a very long time taking care of the family and supporting them through this awful time and beyond.
'We would love it if we could help them, find a new house to make new memories and rebuild their family.'Â
The crash happened at 11.30am, less than 24 hours before another fatal collision involving a separate family on the same stretch of road on Monday at 8.25am.
Jane Baker-Lockett, 43, and her children, 12-year-old twins James and Amy Gaskin, died in a collision with an M&S lorry while driving towards Barnstaple in Devon.
The family from the Milton Keynes area were believed to have been travelling to a holiday in two cars when the collision happened on the A361 near Aller Cross.
Mrs Baker-Lockett's husband Paul Lockett, 4 2, - stepfather to James and Amy - was travelling separately in front of her white Kia Sportage with their son Jack, 14.Â
